There is a lot of history to this idea of the Bethsix Bethsack.

Mostly, though, I just want to give one of you some presents.

What kinds of presents?

Oh, THAT, I cannot say. It will be great, though. A sack of awesome. Trust.

What do I do with these fantastic gifts?

My hope is that you feel the SPIRIT of the whole thing, a la Whimsy‘s Plain White Box. As such, the expectation is that you pass on the love. Fill the Bethsix Bethsack with some of your own favorite things, host a shindig like this, and regift! (And if you don’t have a bloggy platform, I can host for you!)

How does it work?

Contest runs Sunday, February 28th, to Friday, March 5th, at 6 p.m. CST.

Points will be awarded according to two criteria:

• One point awarded each day you leave a comment here (so, a maximum of six, total)
• One point awarded for each question you submit via formspring, either to the text box over there in the righthand sidebar or to my formspring profile

Formspring, if ya don’t know, eh, is a way to “send and receive anonymous questions, and learn more about people you find interesting by following their answers.” I think it’s a neat idea, but I just started using it and haven’t really gotten any questions yet. Sooooo, one point will be awarded for each question you submit. Ask anything! (If you want points, you have to either include identifying information as part of your submission, or tell me separately that you submitted something (you can email me at ixbeths (at) gmail (dot) com). You don’t even have to say what you submitted, I suppose, just that you submitted something(s).)

And, of course, those of you who supported me in the Minionlympics start the contest with points already, as detailed here.

This is too good to be true! What’s the fine print?

Well, if you’re one of the actual literal Bethsix (as in Brad), you can’t win. Because that would be dumb.
