I Like You, I Really Like You

Thanks to Jayme at The TaterTwins for this! Jayme is the author of my new favorite cute-baby blog. There’s more than cute babies, of course (cute big girls! cupcakes!), but the cute babies are pretty darn cute.

The Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
  • Copy the award, and place it on your blog.
  • Link to the person who nominated you.
  • Tell us seven interesting things about yourself.
  • Nominate seven other bloggers.
  • Post links to the seven blogs you nominate.

The Seven Things

  1. I’ve known at least six of my friends since age 11 or younger. I delude myself into thinking this is a sign of good character, so I’m secretly smug about it. It probably just means I’m static and boring.
  2. Growing up, I always saw myself having my first of four children at age 24. In my mind, I had two boys and two girls. I picked terrible names for them when I was about 13.
  3. I never feel like I quite fit in anywhere, with anyone. Hanging out with Bradley is probably the only exception to this.
  4. I have a real sensory integration problem with sounds. Tapping? OMG, I am going to stab you in the face with a pencil. A weird laugh across the hall from my office? I might throw myself out the fourth-floor window. Humming while you walk? I want to scream in your face and smack you with a hammer.
  5. When I first met Brad, I was so morbidly, violently, fatally shy that I would force myself to fall asleep when I was around him, so I wouldn’t have to feel so nervous.
  6. My environment is really central to my mood. Physical order is *really* important to me and, sadly, not something I’m able to enjoy much in a house with four children. When I allow myself to fantasize about life as an empty nester, a clean house is what I imagine 97% of the time.
  7. I absolutely abhor showing any kind of vulnerability. Ever.

The Love

I’m tagging:

  • RainyDay at Chocolate on a Rainy Day because she’s just adorable. She has two cutie pie boys and just seems like someone I’d really like in real life.
  • Christine at ColorMePink! because she makes yummy food and mothers well.
  • Whimsy at The Creamery because I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE I DID NOT WIN THE PLAIN WHITE BOX.
  • Shana at Gorillabuns because she’s a badass scarer of children.
  • Jo at My Own Breed of Random because she’s totally right: I really really really want to touch that damn paint.
  • Patrick at One Spartan because I’ve known him since I was 17, and he’s still one of the most creative people I’ve ever met.
  • Sam at Sam’s Stories because she’s just a hot mess of clam. Also, she shares my enthusiasm for cloth diapering, and we’re both lactating.

Dude. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? To just respond to this today??? But thank you. Even though you didn’t win the PWB (you’ll try again, right?).

And now I HAVE to know what awful names you picked out for your four children when you were 13. I just have to know.

Seriously. What is WRONG with you?! No, I know how hard it is to keep up with your public.

Rhesa Shea
Avery Blaine
Ethan Reed

and I don’t remember the last one

I guess they’re really not THAT bad. They just kinda sound like porn star names. But, I mean, really, if there’s anything I wish for my children, it’s a life of porn stardom.
